Hey I'm Tripp!

As long as I can remember I've always wanted to make people laugh and I always thought animation was the best way to express that. The Simpsons, Adult Swim and Beavis and Butthead was the peak of comedy for me and the settings of these shows made them even funnier. Springfield had so many iconic locations and background gags, that Springfield is a character of the show. What else interested me was the designs of the backgrounds especially Beavis and Butthead. They were so simple yet had so much personality with the shaky outlines and watercolor textures. I became fascinated with worldbuilding and layouts that I decided to pursue a career at Savannah College Of Art And Design.

Whenever I'm working on layouts I try to think of how elements are used by the citizens of the world. Such as if I was designing a city I try to think what each building would be used for and show it subtly. I also think of how people would affect the environments such as graffiti, stains, scuff marks under doors and on roads. Every time I decide an environment, I make sure there is some kind of logic and reason to every element that makes up the background so it feels connected to a larger world.
